Tim Ebner
Tim Ebner rose upon the international art scene in the early 1980's showing fiberglass and industrial material sculptures that were rooted in abstract and minimal sensibilities. In '91 Ebner suddenly abandoned his abstract work and began the second act of his art career. He created a menagerie of anthropomorphic animals: bears, wolves, and others, that sit in harmony both in their natural environments of seascapes and in simple monochromatic brushwork backgrounds.
This new series of works produced with Pilliod Records marks another turn in Ebner's artistic output. This one toward that abstract again, but with a playfulness that is resident of his figurative work. Garnering arcs and bows, these works are cyclical compositions that reference the tube created by a crashing wave, while also being a wonderful insight into Tim's color sense and interest.
