Judy Linhares has honed and perfected her signature style over the past 40 years. Her fairy tales and allegories are unmistakably hers.
Born in Pasadena, Linhares moved to the Bay area as a teen to entrench herself with a signature group of beat artists. Here Linhares drew influences from her peers, outsider artists, and the folklore of Mexico and beyond. Moving to New York in 1980, where she continues to live/work, Linhares’ has asserted her mastery over the environments she creates. Her work is included in many private collections as well as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery among others.
